Q. How often does Ngau Kee change its rates?

A. Generally we update its cash rates at about 8:30am. These rates may be updated throughout the day to reflect current market fluctuations.

Q. What payment methods does Ngau Kee accept?

A. Clients may pay by FPS (our FPS id: info@nkcl.com.hk), cash or cheque. For client who pays cheque, it will take one working day for bank clearance.

Q. If I am paying Ngau Kee with a cheque, cashiers order, what is the name of the payee?

A. Please make the Cashiers order payable to Ngau Kee Money Changer Co Ltd.

Q. Will I need to bring my passport or Identity document when doing an exchange with Ngau Kee?

A. If you are exchanging bank-notes equal to or in excess of HKD 120,000.00, identification is required by law.

Q. If I use Ngau Kee to send a wire transfer, how long will it take for the recipient to receive funds?

A. Normally wire transfers take between 1 to 3 business days for the funds to be credited to the recipient's account. Please note that all wire transfers will not be sent on the same day after cut off time.

Q. How are exchange rates set?

A. Foreign exchange rates are determined by supply and demand in the foreign exchange market which operates 24 hours a day.

Q. Why do we have to open an account with NKCL ?

A. To open an account with NKCL, you are entitled to book the rate of Foreign Exchange Bank notes via telephone or our website.. You can also send your remittance instructions to us by E mail or Fax.

Q. Do I have to come in person to open an account with NKCL ?

A. Yes, you need to come to our office in Sheung Wan for once only.

Q. Will I receive any confirmation form NKCL when the rate is fixed ?

A. Yes, when you book the rate through the internet, you will have the indication rate for record. Our Account Executive will send you a confirmation E mail together with a reference number. In normal circumstances, our dealer can offer a better rate than the indication rate.

Q. Do I have to queue up to collect my order?

A. No, you will have a premium counter for collection. Your order will be prepared under a particular reference no.

Q. Are there any penalties if we do not show up to collect our order within the same business day?

A. Since your order is valid only on the same business day. If you cannot provide a reasonable excuse for no show, your right to book over the internet will be suspended. Furthermore, we will reserve the right to claim the difference in exchange rates.
